A lesson, well learnt

- dedicated to all ppl who are looking for contentment

p

It was one of those nights, blessed with a drizzle
Trotted from my car,to buy a coffee to guzzle
Beating down my neck, were the stinging water drops
left me wonder all along, when the torture would stop

The night were blanketed with the darkness to encumber
filled with the shining stars, post their worthy slumber
The cafe was shuttered for reason unknown
making me feel livid with pain and groan

Seated on a bench,i wondered on life which was so dull
Blaming my luck, which bore few flashes but ever seemed null
Fatigued by work and smelling for an excuse to complain
Happiness seemed lost, and all my energy were drained

Along came by a figure, veiled by the rain
striding along the footpath, with vigor and no strain
Forcing his stick along, guided by the steering of the breeze
His absence of eyes, didnt hamper his journey of ease

Feeling a tree in front, contended he sat below
Thrilled with the new shelter, which adorned his face with glow
Pulled out his begging bowl and commenced his song
Blissful he did sound, his voice being soft but strong

As he sang tardily, my minder began to ponder
On the content he felt and the same which i squandered
Then did i realise, a blind person with nothing, is at serenity
But one having atleast something, lurks for more than just amenity

i walked back to my car, relieved and wiser than before
with gratitude for the lord, who endured all complaints i bore
Resolved to be placid with what i have, because in the journey of life
it isnt the affluent, but the euphoric who win all the strife
